Water hits.
It beads.

For people who want their car glossy and easy to wash. Water beads up and rolls right off. It is not scratch-proof, and we tell you that up front.

01 · The rain test

Make it rain.
Watch it bead.

Bare paint: water lies flat in sheets, and it sits.

Ceramic coat: water pulls into beads and rolls off.

02 · What's on your paint

Five layers.
One on top.

Your paint is a stack. The coat is a thin, slick layer on the very top. Water can't grab on.

  1. Thin, hard, slick. Water runs off.
  2. Clear and glossy. Swirls live here.
  3. The color you see.
  4. Holds the color on.
  5. The car’s body panel.

03 · Straight talk

What it does.
What it doesn't.

A coat is great at a few things. It's not magic. You should know both before you pay.

It does

Beads water.
Washes easy.

  • Water beads up and rolls off, so less of it sits on the paint.
  • Washing gets easier. Dirt has a harder time holding on.
  • Adds a deep, glassy shine on top of the polish.
  • Sits on top of the clear coat, so dirt and water hit the coat first.

It doesn't

Not armor.
No magic.

  • It is not scratch-proof. A dirty sponge or a brush car wash can still scratch it.
  • It won't stop rock chips. A stone at speed still chips paint.
  • It won't hide swirls. It locks in what's under it, so we polish first.
  • You still wash your car. It just goes faster.

04 · How it goes on

Prep. Polish.
Coat. Cure.

A coat is only as good as the paint under it. So most of the work happens before it goes on.

  1. Clean black paint up close, with fine round swirls still in it

Lights upClear coatClean and bare. The swirls still show.

    Step 1 · Prep

    Wash it. Clean it deep.

Foam lifts the dirt before a mitt touches the paint. Then a clay bar pulls out what washing leaves behind. The coat needs bare, clean paint.

  2. The same black paint polished smooth, with no swirls left

Lights upClear coatLeveled smooth. No swirls.

    Step 2 · Polish

    Polish out the swirls.

The coat locks in what's under it, swirls and all. So we polish first. Polishing levels the clear coat until the swirls are gone.

  3. A hand with a soft gray towel wiping the side of a black car

    Step 3 · Coat

    Coat it by hand.

We wipe the coat on one panel at a time. Then we level it off with a soft towel, so it goes on even.

    Step 4 · Cure

    Let it set hard.

The coat needs time to cure. We keep the car dry while it does. Then you get your keys and a short care sheet.

05 · Care

Easy care.
No fuss.

Treat it kind and it stays glossy. This is the whole list. Full care guide

Care · 01

Wash by hand

A soft mitt and two buckets. Rinse the car first, so grit comes off before you touch it.

Care · 02

Skip the brushes

Brush car washes can still scratch. Touchless or by hand is best.

Care · 03

Dry it soft

Use a clean, plush towel or a blower. Never an old rag.

Care · 04

Rinse bird drops

Don't let them bake in the sun. Rinse them off soon, then wipe gently.

Your coating

The coat you use, named here The brand, what it's rated for and your ceramic prices. Only the shop can fill this in.
Does a ceramic coat stop scratches?

No. It makes water bead off and makes washing easier. A dirty sponge, a brush car wash or a key can still scratch it. We tell you that before you pay.

Why do you polish first?

The coat locks in whatever is under it. If the swirls are still there, they stay there. So we polish them out first, then coat.

How long does it last?

It depends on the coat and on how the car is washed. Ask us. We tell you what to expect for your car before any work starts.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the car and how much polishing the paint needs. You get the price before we start. No surprises.

When can I wash it?

The coat needs time to cure first. We tell you when, and how to do the first wash, when you pick up the car.
